IT is time to have fun and play...with our kids, parents! The ten o'clock news, or 5 o' clock news for some of us... hasn't even started, but you're too exhausted to watch -- Car pools, lunch bags, after-school activities, dinner, homework, bathtime, bedtime. All of this on top of your own job (or jobs) and the other realities of adulthood. You have just enough energy left to drag yourself to bed so you can wake early and start the routine all over again. Each day with young kids feels like a week, each week like a month. Our kids are silently begging for us to spend time with them, even 5 minutes. I have seen such a difference in children's behavior when their mommy or daddy took 5-10 minutes to sit and play with them. IT has to be scheduled in the day to make it happen and it is worth it! Most of us are away from our kids more than we are with them...there are only 940 Saturdays between a child's birth and going off to college! YIKES! Sounds like a lot but it is not.
Try this for 1 week...you can do anything for 1 week! Spend 5 minutes everyday sitting with your child one on one playing with whatever they want to play with...they direct the activity not you! Then look back and see the improvement in their behavior! Comment here on the blog with results! Ready...Set...Go!
